Autumn Explosion In Perthshire’s Big Tree Country

Autumn is a favourite season in our house.  Mike loves the crisp days & autumn colours.  Perthshire is renowned as being Big Tree Country & Autumn is always a real treat.  Wrap up warm & head out to see Perthshire ablaze in stunning autumnal colours.  Some of our favourites walks offering a real Autumn spectacle include  The Birks of Aberfeldy, The Hermitage (Dunkeld) & Faskally Woods (Pitlochry).

However, it’s the Autumn  fungi explosion that excites me & our dedicated 4 year old  Padawan.  We love wild food & foraging & eagerly wait for gourmet mushroom delights to pop up each year including Perthshire’s finest Porcinis.   Luckily for our Cottage guests, we’re teaching Heba that it is nice to share, so you never know when a bowl of delicious, wild mushrooms might appear on the Cottage doorstep ….. yummmmm!
